“Walking Forward Together with Our Children”: Tân Hiệp Phát’s Enduring Commitment to Bringing a Warm Tết to Special Homes

Each year, as Tết approaches, the spirit of reunion fills the streets, carrying with it hopes for a peaceful and auspicious new year. Yet for thousands of children orphaned in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Tết was once a season marked by quiet चिंता. Homes without the presence of loved ones, family meals with empty seats at the table—such absences left spring feeling incomplete.

This year, many once-silent doorsteps have grown warmer, thanks to the steadfast support of the community. Among the most dedicated partners is the “Walking Forward Together with Our Children” program, initiated by Thanh Niên (Youth) Newspaper, with long-term sponsorship from Tân Hiệp Phát Group.

When Compassion Becomes a Long-Term Commitment

In the aftermath of the pandemic, thousands of children were left orphaned, facing not only material hardship but also profound emotional loss. Recognizing that meaningful support must be sustained over time, Tân Hiệp Phát joined the program from its earliest days. Today, it stands as the largest sponsor, providing long-term support to 50 children orphaned by COVID-19 until they reach the age of 18.

Beyond regular financial assistance, the company’s leadership and employees organize visits and gift-giving activities during special occasions such as International Children’s Day (June 1), Mid-Autumn Festival, and Lunar New Year. The annual Tết visits have become a cherished tradition—an enduring expression of the company’s long-term commitment to accompanying vulnerable children on their journey forward.

Homes Gradually Filled with Warmth

In Gò Vấp District, Ho Chi Minh City, the modest home of Ms. Nguyễn Thị Thu was once overshadowed by grief after her son-in-law passed away due to COVID-19. Left to care for her two young grandchildren—one of whom is on the autism spectrum—she bore both the financial and emotional burden at an age when she should have been resting.

Receiving a Tết gift from the sponsor, Ms. Thu shared emotionally:
“Thanks to this companionship, Tết is no longer a silent season for us.”

Also in Gò Vấp, Mr. Tăng Nguyễn Duy An, a single father who lost his wife during the pandemic, works tirelessly as a ride-hailing driver by day and takes on additional night shifts to raise his two children. Though life remains challenging, he holds onto hope:
“I only wish for good health so I can raise my children well.”

The gifts delivered are not merely material support; they are a message that these families are not alone in the journey ahead.

When Tết Knocks at The Door —and Hope Comes to Stay

In small homes now brightened by children’s laughter as they unwrap their gifts, the colors of spring seem to filter gently through every doorway. Beyond sweets and new clothes, what arrives is the presence of human kindness—a force capable of soothing loss and rekindling faith in tomorrow.

Speaking during a visit ahead of Lunar New Year 2026, Ms. Vũ Phương Thanh, Brand Ambassador of Tân Hiệp Phát, shared:
“We are not only delivering gifts; we are giving our time and our care. We hope that each Tết, the children feel a true sense of togetherness and gain renewed motivation to strive forward.”

For the 50 children receiving long-term support, each story is unique. Yet they share one common thread: the embrace of a compassionate community.

“Walking Forward Together with Our Children” is more than a charitable initiative. It has become a sustainable journey of corporate social responsibility for Tân Hiệp Phát—where love extends through every spring season, allowing hope to continue to blossom.
